NY businessman checking out Lyndhurst for kosher grocery

...What makes Lyndhurst the right city for such a supermarket?

“I can’t speak to the reason they’re choosing Lyndhurst,” Schlessel said, “but it has a very nice Jewish population that’s growing,” and the Chabad Family Center, run out of the Lyndhurst home of Rabbi Mendy Freedman and his wife, Chaya, is prospering.

“There’s obviously a Jewish population here that a full-service kosher supermarket would certainly help,” Schlessel said. Now, he and his wife have to shop at various places to keep their home kosher. The Blackman enterprise would mean one-stop shopping. “That’s what I hope,” Schlessel said.
